The ABC Level 1 credentialing is awarded to those who have completed all the training requirements of Level 1 certification in such a manner that is satisfactory to the standards set forth by ABC. Burke Care has multiple options to allow for ABC Level One to be affordable to any potential student.

ABC Level 1 Mentoring is available through Burke Care as needed.

All Counselors in Training (CITs) can expect to:

  • Develop a solid biblical framework and understanding of discipleship care with an emphasis of the sanctification process and the reality that all believers are to be “conformed into the image of the Son.” (Romans 8:29b)

  • Learn foundational truths from the video presentations of ‘Your Walk With God is a Community Project’ and ‘What Did You Expect’ Seminars with Paul David Tripp

  • Have access to mentors for quick follow up and accountability

  • Have opportunities to articulate and implement the basic understandings around the general and specific methods of biblical counseling as covered in the Equipped to Counsel material.

  • Apply counseling understanding in a real-life counseling setting.

  • To be fully prepared to begin the ABC Level 2 Certification program where the emphasis will be on practical counseling supervision and observation.
